Ah the joys of driving a 14 year old Ford. Driving around last week, no problem whatsoever, all was hunky dory in my little Mondeo shaped world. For whatever reason now though, she's decided to stop starting. The battery is ok (a bit old but charged and the voltage outputs are ok), and Won't start, weird clicking/rattling noise. I have a 2011 Flex SEL. Saturday, I turned the key to start it, and nothing happened. It acted as though the battery were dead, but then the interior lights started to flicker on and off rapidly (but still wouldn't start). Left it in the garage until this morning. Went out to try again, still wouldn't Tried to start car the other morning engine tried to turn over then stoped ,thought it was flat battery so I charged it up and tried again still not starting just a clicking sound from the engine bay ,didn't have anything to test battery with so I purchased a new battery still the same proplem does anyone have any Ideas what could be the problem please Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 2003 TDCi starter probs?. I charged up battery and then noticed a "ticking" noise coming from the inside panel area in the cargo area in the back on the Drivers side. After a while I heard my car doors lock.
